1. A system for identifying perishable products in a retail store based on analysis of image data and for automatically generating offers relating to the identified products, the system comprising:
an image capture device mounted to a first shelving unit in a retail store;
at least one processor configured to:
receive an image from the image capture device depicting a plurality of perishable products of at least one product type displayed on a second shelving unit in the retail store, wherein the received image comprises inventory information taken from a first time interval;
with a data analysis software module, analyze the image to determine information about a displayed inventory of the plurality of perishable products;
access a database storing information about the at least one product type, wherein the accessed information comprises inventory information taken from a second time interval;
use the information about the displayed inventory and the stored information about the at least one product type to determine at least one offer associated with the at least one product type, wherein the determined offer is at least in part based on a comparison between the inventory information from the first and second time intervals; and
via at least one mobile device in communication with the processor, provide the at least one offer to at least one customer of the retail store.
