1. A method, comprising:
dividing an input file into multiple portions;
compressing each of the portions by:
performing an alignment on each of the portions to generate corresponding compression matrixes;
identifying a consensus sequence for each of the compression matrixes of sequences; and
generating a compression portion using the consensus sequence to compress the sequences; and
combining the compression portions into a single compressed file.
