1. A system comprising:
a fluid film bearing comprising one or more components; and
one or more acoustic emission sensors positioned on a surface of at least one of the one or more components, wherein at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is configured to collect data from the fluid film bearing regarding a condition of one or more pads of the fluid film bearing, and the at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is on a pad of the one or more pads.
