1. An energy transmission control mount, comprising:
a carrier having an aperture provided therein to accommodate passage of a fastener therethrough, opposite ends of said carrier being configured to define channels to receive and retain flanges of a furring channel; and
vibration dampening material on the carrier, the vibration dampening material extending over at least a portion of one major surface of the carrier and over at least a portion of an opposite major surface of the carrier, the vibration dampening material extending over the opposite major surface of the carrier being configured having an annular flange portion that is sized and shaped to overlie and retain a washer in alignment with said aperture and through which the fastener passes.
