1. A process for producing an extract from a plant-based raw material, said process comprising:
(a) feeding a plant-based raw material into an extraction reactor;
(b) introducing a solvent into said extraction reactor;
(c) operating said extraction reactor under effective reaction conditions to generate a dissolved extract in said solvent, as well as a solid material;
(d) separating said solid material from said solvent;
(e) distilling said solvent to generate purified extract and recovered solvent;
(f) recovering residual solvent contained in said solid material; and
(g) recovering said purified extract,
wherein said plant-based raw material is hemp or cannabis.
