1. An unmanned aerial system (UAS) comprising:
one or more propellers; and
a plurality of layered modules comprising:
a primary module configured to guard the one or more propellers; and
one or more deployable modules configured to attach to and detach from each other, wherein at least one of the one or more deployable modules is configured to attach to and detach from the primary module,
wherein the one or more deployable modules are configured to be added or dropped during flight of the UAS.
