1. A method of mixing a cement-based mixture comprising:
excavating a trench within a surface structure, wherein the excavation of the trench produces trench spoils;
collecting the trench spoils at a mobile volumetric mixing system having a water-storage chamber, a cement-storage chamber, and an aggregate-storage chamber, wherein the trench spoils are collected in the aggregate-storage chamber;
channeling the trench spoils from the aggregate-storage chamber to a conveyor disposed below the aggregate-storage chamber;
screening the trench spoils through an aggregate screen positioned between the aggregate-storage chamber and the conveyor;
transporting the screened trench spoils along the conveyor to an auger mixer;
mixing the screened trench spoils with water from the water-storage chamber and cement from the cement-storage chamber at the auger mixer to form a flowable fill mixture; and
backfilling the trench with the flowable fill mixture.
