1. A method of manufacturing a spinal implant where the spinal implant comprises a sensor, the method comprising:
performing an additive manufacturing process to create a partially created printed spinal implant;
embedding the sensor into a powder bed on the partially created printed spinal implant and melting the powder around the sensor;
performing an additive manufacturing process on the partially created printed spinal implant to create an electrical connection with the sensor;
performing an additive manufacturing process on the partially created printed spinal implant to create a printed spinal implant having a hollow space;
housing an electrical component in the hollow space; and
electrically coupling the electrical connection and the electrical component.
