1. A method of reversibly restraining an endoscope, comprising:
positioning an endoscope in a holder of a clamp;
actuating one or more sidewalls of the holder to at least a first clamped configuration such the endoscope remains axially and rotationally translatable;
actuating the one or more sidewalls of the holder to at least a second clamped configuration such the endoscope is either axially or rotationally translatable;
actuating the one or more sidewalls of the holder to at least a third clamped configuration such that the endoscope is neither axially nor rotationally translatable, wherein:
the clamp comprises a respective detent or groove for the first clamped configuration, the second clamped configuration, and the third clamped configuration, and
a ball detent mechanism configured to provide feedback to indicate the clamp is in the first clamped configuration, the second clamped configuration, or the third clamped configuration.
