1. A dishwasher comprising:
a tub including a washing room configured to accommodate a washing target;
a door coupled to one surface of the tub, the door being configured to open and close the washing room;
a nozzle disposed in the washing room and configured to spray wash water to the washing target, the nozzle comprising a magnetic material;
a coil located adjacent to an area corresponding to a movable range of the nozzle, the coil being configured to generate an electric current therein as the nozzle rotates;
a securing bracket securing the coil to the door; and
a controller configured to:
control operation of the nozzle based on an operation command, and
determine an operational state of the nozzle based on a voltage value generated in the coil.
