22. A system for managing power usage of a tag that is attachable to an animal, the tag further adapted to perform multiple operations including monitoring physical activities, behaviors, and parameters relating to the animal, the system within the tag comprising:
a processor adapted to control the multiple operations performed by the tag during a normal active state; and
a power source, that supplies power to the processor; and
wherein the processor monitors a current charge level of the power source, and wherein the processor switches on or off at least one of the multiple operations during the normal active state based on both the current charge level of the power source being between a predetermined charge level range and a predetermined level of importance of a feature to be executed by the tag during the charge level; and
wherein the processor switching on or off the at least one of the multiple operations reduces an amount power needed to be supplied by the power source during the normal active state.
