1. A modular system for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) management, the modular system comprising:
a stackable application module comprising a processor to process data received from a UAV and sensor data from at least one or more vision sensors located at the modular system to determine an activity event associated with the UAV, wherein the data received from the UAV comprises at least an identifier of the UAV; and
a base station releasably assembled to the stackable application module via a first interface, wherein the stackable application module is mounted to the base station via the first interface and wherein the base station comprises:
(i) a communication module to provide communication functionality over a network,
(ii) a second interface providing electrical and mechanical coupling of the base station with a support member, wherein the second interface allows the base station to be releasably coupled to the support member.
