1. An apparatus comprising: a microphone embedded in an access control mechanism; a radio receiver embedded in the access control mechanism; logic circuitry configured to: receive a first utterance from the microphone; receive a second utterance from the radio receiver; and unlock a lock based on a user being in physical proximity to the access control mechanism and based on a determination that the first utterance and the second utterance are an equivalent utterance;
wherein the second utterance was sent to the radio receiver utilizing a specific talkgroup.
