1. An electronic whiteboard device, comprising:
a touch screen display; and
processing circuitry configured to:
present a user interface via the touch screen display, the user interface comprising:
presentation content associated with a current lesson that is contained within a first content layer of the user interface;
a flow control panel that is positioned only within a lower half of the user interface and is overlaid on the first content layer of the user interface, the flow control panel comprising:
a first skip button selectable by a user to navigate through the presentation content in a first direction;
a second skip button selectable by the user to navigate through the presentation content in a second direction; and
a text region containing text that conveys information about a current position of the presentation content within the current lesson;
a first lesson flow access button that is positioned within a lower left corner of the user interface, the first lesson flow access button selectable by the user to access and collapse a lesson flow panel that is separate from the flow control panel, the lesson flow panel comprising an activity progression element that shows a visual representation of activities associated with the current lesson; and
a second lesson flow access button that is positioned within a lower right corner of the user interface, the second lesson flow access button selectable by the user to access and collapse the lesson flow panel;
receive a first user input comprising a selection of the first skip button or the second skip button by the user via the touch screen display;
update the presentation content within the first content layer of the user interface to navigate through the presentation content in the first direction or in the second direction based on the first user input;
receive a second user input selecting the first lesson flow access button or the second lesson flow access button via the touch screen display; and
position the flow control panel on a left side of the touch screen display on the user interface responsive to determining that the second user input selects the first lesson flow access button or a right side of the touch screen display on the user interface responsive to determining that the second user input selects the second lesson flow access button.
