1. A method, comprising:
determining, by a device comprising a processor, that a mobile device is within a first portion of a defined area and the device is located within a second portion of the defined area;
predicting, by the device, based on the mobile device is within the first portion of the defined area and the device is located within the second portion of the defined area, that a future usage level of the device is going to be below a defined threshold for greater than a defined amount of time; and
modifying, by the device, a power consumption mode of a radio of the device from a first power consumption mode to a second power consumption mode based on the predicting that the future usage level of the device is going to be below the defined threshold for greater than the defined amount of time.
