1. A method of treating a patient, the method comprising:
determining a level of adaptation of a patient's sensory response to a suprathreshold electrical stimulus for each of a plurality of different electrodes and/or electrode combinations;
based on the determined levels of adaptation, selecting a specific electrode and/or electrode combination of the plurality of different electrodes and/or electrode combinations for delivery of an electrical signal to the patient to address a patient condition; and
programming a signal generator to generate and deliver the electrical signal to the patient via the selected specific electrode and/or electrode combination.
