1. A laser apparatus, comprising:
a laser source to output light;
one or more mirrors optically coupled to the laser source and arranged to:
facilitate emission of the light in a first subset of two or more optical modes of a plurality of optical modes that are equally spaced from one another in a frequency domain, wherein the two or more optical modes are adjacent to one another in the plurality of optical modes; and
suppress emission of the light in a second subset of the plurality of optical modes that are equally spaced from one another in the frequency domain, wherein respective frequencies of the second subset of the plurality of optical modes are higher or lower than respective frequencies of optical modes in the first subset; and
a ring filter optically coupled with the one or more mirrors, wherein adjustment of the ring filter changes a spacing between respective modes of the plurality of optical modes in the frequency domain.
