1. A positive electrode active material, comprising:
a first component;
a second component; and
a third component between the first component and the second component,
wherein each of the first component and the second component contacts the third component,
wherein each of the first component and the second component includes a portion which extends beyond an edge of the third component to form a space between the first component and the second component,
wherein each of the first component, the second component, and the third component comprises lithium, a metal, phosphorous and oxygen,
wherein a first surface of the third component is in contact with a first surface of the first component, and
wherein a second surface of the third component is in contact with a first surface of the second component.
