1. A battery, comprising:
a housing characterized by a first end and a second end opposite the first end, wherein the housing defines an interior region;
a set of electrodes located within the housing, wherein the set of electrodes is positioned within the interior region of the housing, wherein the set of electrodes include a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein:
the first electrode comprises a first surface and a second surface, an active material coupled on the second surface, and a tab coupled with a surface of the housing at a distal end;
the tab is coupled with the first surface of the first electrode at a proximal end; and
a first insulating material is applied along the second surface of the first electrode across a section corresponding to a location where the tab is coupled with the first electrode;
the first insulating material includes a first insulating end and a second insulating end;
the first insulating end contacts the active material;
the second insulating end is terminally aligned with an end of the first electrode; and
a cap at least partially contained within the interior region of the housing, wherein the cap is characterized by a first cap surface facing the set of electrodes.
