1. A method implemented by a computing device and comprising:
retrieving at least a portion of context metadata based on a first physical address mapped to a logical address in a cached zoned namespace (ZNS) mapping table, wherein the logical address is extracted from a read request;
determining whether the portion of the context metadata is valid based on a comparison of at least the portion of the context metadata to identification information extracted from the read request; and
replacing at least the first physical address in the cached ZNS mapping table with a second physical address retrieved from an on-disk ZNS mapping table, wherein the second physical address is mapped to the logical address in the on-disk ZNS mapping table, when the portion of the context metadata is valid.
