1. An apparatus to treat refractive error of an eye, comprising:
an optic;
a plurality of projection modules arranged around an outer portion of the optic, each of the plurality of projection modules operating to generate and direct light to form a stimulus; and
a plurality of optical elements arranged on the optic to receive the light from the plurality of projection modules and direct the received light to form an image of the stimulus anterior or posterior to a peripheral region of a retina of the eye;
wherein each of the plurality of optical elements comprises one or more of a mirror or mirrors, a partial mirror or partial mirrors, or a lightguide.
