1. An insert for a wind turbine blade root, comprising:
a bushing that extends between an end region defining an end face and an opposite body region defining a bushing end, the bushing including a bore extending a length from the end face along a main axis of the bushing, the bore having an internal thread that extends for a portion of the length of the bore, the internal thread having a first end adjacent the end face and an opposite second end located further from the end face compared to the first end, and the portion of the total length of the bore that the internal thread extends is less than 50% of the length of the bore.
