1. A method for monitoring a fleet of self-driving vehicles, comprising:
autonomously navigating a self-driving vehicle in an environment;
collecting current state information using at least one sensor of the self-driving vehicle;
comparing the current state information with reference data;
based on the comparing, determining whether the current state information conforms with the reference data; and
in response to determining that the current state information does not conform with the reference data:
determining at least one property of the current state information that does not conform with the reference data;
associating the determined at least one property to an escalation level;
identifying one or more user roles associated with the escalation level; and
generating an alert based on the identified user roles.
