1. A pump, comprising:
a drive mechanism;
a first tube coupled to the drive mechanism;
a filament coupled to the first tube and extendable into the first tube by the drive mechanism;
at least one check valve coupled to the first tube, wherein as the filament is forced by the drive mechanism into the first tube, fluid contained in the first tube is forced by the filament through the at least one check valve and out of the first tube; and
a second tube, with the filament at least partially inserted into the first tube on a first side of the drive mechanism and at least partially inserted into the second tube on a second side of the drive mechanism, whereby movement of the drive mechanism in a first direction causes corresponding linear movement and insertion of the filament into the first tube and retraction of the filament from the second tube.
