1. An apparatus for applying negative pressure to a wound, the apparatus comprising:
a housing;
a negative pressure source at least partially enclosed by the housing and configured to provide negative pressure via a fluid flow path to a wound dressing;
a first circuit board assembly at least partially enclosed by the housing and comprising a first controller configured to control a wound therapy with the wound dressing by activation and deactivation of the negative pressure source;
a second circuit board assembly at least partially enclosed by the housing, the second circuit board assembly being separate from the first circuit board assembly and comprising a second controller configured to:
communicate therapy data via a communication network, the therapy data being indicative of a characteristic of the wound therapy,
receive an executable command from an electronic device separate from the apparatus, and
execute the executable command without providing the executable command to the first controller; and
one or more switches configured to electrically connect the first controller to either the second controller for communication or the electronic device for communication.
