1. A staple cartridge configured for use with a surgical instrument, the staple cartridge comprising:
(a) a cartridge body comprising:
(i) a proximal end,
(ii) a distal end,
(iii) a first lateral side disposed between the proximal and distal ends, and
(iv) a second lateral side disposed between the proximal and distal ends and opposite to the first lateral side; and
(b) a flex circuit positioned on the cartridge body, wherein the flex circuit is configured to provide feedback to a controller and alter the operation of the surgical instrument, the flex circuit comprising:
(i) a first RFID chip,
(ii) a first RFID power coil or antenna in communication with the first RFID chip and configured to provide power to the first RFID chip, wherein the first RFID power coil or antenna has a first transmission range, and
(iii) a first RFID receiving antenna in communication with the first RFID chip and configured to receive data from the first RFID chip and transmit the data to the controller, wherein the first RFID receiving antenna has a second transmission range that does not overlap with the first transmission range.
