1. A system for performing a molecular analysis having a molecular analysis workflow including a reagent application instruction and a reagent mixing instruction, the system comprising:
a reagent container for containing a first reagent and comprising a reagent container radio frequency identification RFID tag; and
a reaction plate comprising:
a plurality of reaction sites; and
a reaction plate radio frequency identification RFID tag, the reaction plate configured to accommodate simultaneous performance of multiple assays, wherein the reagent container RFID tag or the reaction plate RFID tag or both includes stored the molecular analysis workflow including the reagent application instruction and the reagent mixing instruction, the reagent application instruction for directing application of particular volumes of the first reagent contained within the reagent container to one or more reaction sites spotted with a second reagent of the plurality of reaction sites of the reaction plate, each reaction site of the one or more reaction sites having an amount of the second reagent spotted on each reaction site, wherein the reaction plate RFID tag includes stored identification information for identifying the one or more reaction sites spotted with the second reagent the reaction plate RFID tag or the reagent container RFID tag or both includes stored the reagent mixing instruction for mixing the amount of the second reagent spotted on a corresponding reaction site and a particular volume of the first reagent applied to the corresponding reaction site.
