1. A central air conditioning and heat pump unit, the central air conditioning and heat pump unit comprising:
a housing defining an outdoor portion and an indoor portion;
a sealed system comprising an outdoor heat exchanger assembly disposed in the outdoor portion, an indoor heat exchanger assembly disposed in the indoor portion, and a compressor in fluid communication with the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger to circulate a refrigerant between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger;
a temperature sensor positioned at the central air conditioning and heat pump unit, wherein the temperature sensor is positioned to receive an inlet air temperature at the central air conditioning and heat pump unit, the temperature signal corresponding to the inlet air temperature;
a control system positioned at the central air conditioning and heat pump unit, wherein the control system is operably coupled to the sealed system and the temperature sensor, the control system comprising a memory device and a processor, wherein the memory device is configured to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the central air conditioning and heat pump unit to perform operations, the operations comprising:
receiving, via a user, a control command at the control system;
generating, based on the control command, a control signal based on a temperature signal received from the temperature sensor; and
operating the sealed system based on the control signal, wherein operating the sealed system based on the control signal comprises:
receiving, at the control system, a set point; and
commanding an on or off operation of the sealed system based on whether the set point is achieved.
