1. A coated article comprising:
a substrate, wherein the substrate comprises a metal;
a coating disposed on a surface of the substrate, wherein the coating comprises a transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD); and
a hydrocarbon in contact with the coating, wherein a portion of the coating not in direct contact with the surface is completely immersed in the hydrocarbon,
wherein a thickness of the coating on the surface is between about 10 μm to about 15 μm.
