1. A system for debriding a tissue site, comprising:
a cover adapted to form a sealed space over the tissue site for receiving a negative pressure from a negative-pressure source; and
a tissue interface having a manifold and a debridement tool, the manifold and the debridement tool being integral components of the tissue interface;
the manifold adapted to deliver negative pressure to the tissue site;
the debridement tool adapted to be positioned between the manifold and the tissue site, the debridement tool comprising a felted foam;
a plurality of holes extending through the debridement tool, the plurality of holes being separated from each other by walls, the walls having transverse surfaces extending perpendicular to a surface of the debridement tool that form cutting edges with the surface of the debridement tool, and wherein the plurality of holes have a perforation shape factor that allows the plurality of holes to collapse from a relaxed position to a contracted position in response to an application of negative pressure to the sealed space and to return from the contracted position to the relaxed position in response to a removal of negative pressure from the sealed space; and
the plurality of holes being adapted to generate macro-pressure points in the tissue site in the contracted position and the cutting edges being adapted to disrupt the macro-pressure points in the tissue site in response to movement of the debridement tool between the relaxed position and the contracted position.
