1. A server for controlling a TCU (Telematics Communication Unit) mounted on a vehicle in the next-generation mobile communication system,
a transceiver; and
a processor for controlling the transceiver,
wherein the processor is configured to perform operations comprising:
determining a available data rate for a combination of a plurality of transmission beams of the base station and a plurality of receptions beams of the TCU, based on channel state information for a radio channel between the TCU and the base station;
receiving information on the available buffer size of the TCU and information on downlink service requirements of one or more electronic devices in the vehicle from the TCU through the base station;
determining a data rate of downlink data and a first transmission beam of the base station, based on information on the available buffer size of the TCU, information on downlink service requirements for the one or more electronic devices, and the available data rate; and
transmitting the downlink data to the TCU through the base station, based on the determined data rate and the first transmission beam,
wherein the information on the available buffer size of the TCU includes information on an available buffer size of the memory of the TCU and information on an available buffer size of at least one transceiver of the TCU, and
wherein the information on the available buffer size of the TCU used in the process of determining the data rate and the first transmission beam is the smaller buffer size between the available buffer size of the memory of the TCU and the available buffer size of the at least one transceiver of the TCU.
