1. A method, comprising:
allocating, by a headend device within a network environment, a different number of connections from among a plurality of connections between the headend device and a plurality of remote devices within the network environment to each remote device category from among a plurality of remote device categories;
receiving, by the headend device, a performance characteristic from a remote device from among the plurality of remote devices;
categorizing, by the headend device, the remote device into a remote device category from among the plurality of remote device categories that is associated with the performance characteristic; and
deploying, by the headend device, a remediation action to the remote device category using its respective different number of connections from among the plurality of connections.
