1. A method for detecting sleep current in a sensor device using a sleep current circuit in communication with the sensor device, the method comprising:
initiating a reduced power state for the sensor device;
providing, while in the reduced power state, a sleep pulse signal to a capacitor in the sleep current circuit, wherein the sleep pulse signal at least partially charges the capacitor;
measuring a charge on the capacitor in the sleep current circuit based on the sleep pulse signal;
comparing the charge on the capacitor to a predetermined threshold to determine if the charge on the capacitor exceeds the predetermined threshold;
detecting the sleep current based on the comparison, wherein:
the sleep current is unwanted current flowing within the sensor device while the sensor device is in the reduced power state, and
the detection of the sleep current is indicative of a fault associated with the sensor device; and
taking one or more actions based on the detection to address the fault associated with the sensor device.
