1. A method for synthesizing computed tomography (CT) image series comprising:
a) accessing projection data acquired from a subject using a CT system;
b) reconstructing at least a first CT image series from the projection data using a first reconstruction kernel associated with a first set of image qualities and a second CT image series from the projection data using a second reconstruction kernel associated with a second set of image qualities; and
c) synthesizing at least one new CT image series by subjecting the at least first and second CT image series to an artificial neural network, the at least one new CT image series being characterized by a combination of the first set of image qualities and the second set of image qualities.
