1. A radon detector comprising:
a housing including a receptacle portion and a storage portion separably connected together to allow the storage portion to be separated from the receptable portion, the receptacle portion configured to collect ambient air therein; and
a radon-detection strip configured to detect radon gas in the ambient air collected in the receptacle portion, the radon-detection strip being selectively positionable either in the receptacle portion to be exposed to the ambient air collected therein or the storage portion to be shielded therein when not in use,
the storage portion being separable from the receptacle portion when the radon-detection strip is positioned in the storage portion.
