1. A turbine, comprising:
a downstream rotor member and an upstream rotor member, both configured to rotate due to expansion of hot burned gas flowing into a hot gas flow path channel, the downstream rotor member and the upstream rotor member comprising a rotor wheel, the rotor wheel of the downstream rotor member and the upstream rotor member forming a wheel space;
a protective spacer arranged between the upstream rotor member and the downstream rotor member, the protective spacer configured to avoid an ingested gas flow from the hot gas flow path channel to reach the wheel space;
a stator spacer arranged between the upstream rotor member and the downstream rotor member and spaced apart from the protective spacer so as to form a channel;
a deflector disposed on one of the downstream rotor member and the upstream rotor member; and
a purging system fluidly coupled to the wheel space, the purging system configured to provide purging air into the wheel space,
wherein the defector is configured to deflect the purging air flowing from the wheel space into the channel, and
wherein the channel is at a pressure lower than that of the gas deflected by the deflector.
