A rope comprising bundles of filaments, wherein each bundle comprises at least 70% by volume of liquid crystal polymer filaments, and wherein at least one bundle comprises liquid crystal polymer filaments of at least 10 denier per filament in size, wherein the liquid crystal polymer filaments comprise thermotropic liquid crystal polymer filaments.
