1. A method for treating ischemia-reperfusion injury in a mammal, comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of a compound represented by the formula

wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a C1-6 alkyl group, a C1-6 alkylthio group, or a C2-6 alkenylthio group; and n is 0, 1, or 2.
