1. An external urine collection system for urine excreted by a user through the user's external urethral orifice, the collection system comprising:
a posterior end and an anterior end defined with respect to an anatomical orientation of the collection system when the collection system is worn by the user, with the posterior end positioned posterior of an external urethral orifice of the user and the anterior end positioned anterior of the external urethral orifice of the user;
a longitudinal axis extending between the posterior end and the anterior end;
a sleeve having an interface surface defining an open end, the interface surface comprising a curved surface that corresponds to a curvature of an external surface of the user surrounding the external urethral orifice of the user, the curved surface configured to be secured via an adhesive to the external surface of the user and to surround the external urethral orifice of the user, distal from the external urethral orifice, the sleeve defining a sleeve outlet, opposite the open end;
a removable cup coupled with the sleeve at the sleeve outlet, and including a collection chamber, wherein the cup comprises:
a wall defining the collection chamber and including an outlet through which urine in the collection chamber exits the cup, wherein the outlet is disposed between the anterior and posterior ends and the outlet is spaced from and disposed opposite to the sleeve outlet; and
a drain fluidly connected with the outlet through which urine in collection chamber can exit the cup, the drain projecting from the wall in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis; and
a releasable coupling between the cup and the sleeve, the releasable coupling forming a liquid tight seal for the flow of urine through the sleeve and into the cup;
wherein the cup can be uncoupled from the sleeve while the sleeve remains secured via the adhesive to the external surface of the user.
