1. A method of stabilizing a sacroiliac (“SI”) joint with a composite implant, the method comprising:
rotationally advancing a composite implant along a posterior sacral alar-iliac (“SAI”) trajectory, the composite implant including an outer sleeve disposed about a monolithic inner shank with a distal inner thread of the outer sleeve interfaced with a distal outer thread of the inner shank,
the distal outer thread of the inner shank extending distally relative to a distal end of the outer sleeve, and
the outer sleeve comprising an outer sleeve thread in the same direction and continuous with the distal outer thread of the inner shank at the distal end of the outer sleeve, and a growth region that comprises a plurality of surface growth features that are sized and configured to facilitate at least one of bony on-growth, in-growth, or through-growth; and
rotationally advancing the composite implant through the sacrum, across the SI joint, and into the ilium such that the distal outer thread of the inner shank is anchored in the ilium and such that the outer sleeve is implanted across the SI joint and into the sacrum with the growth region of the outer sleeve disposed across the SI joint.
