1. A physiological data acquisition system comprising:
at least two interface modules, wherein each interface module comprises:
a dock configured to mate with two or more different personality modules, the dock including a dock housing with a multi-modal connection port thereon and configured to directly connect to a dock connector of any one of the two or more different personality modules so as to receive physiological signals therefrom, the dock including a processor configured to process at least a portion of the physiological signals received from the connected personality module;
a connected one of the two or more different personality modules including:
a personality module housing;
a catheter receiver configured to removably receive a connection end of the catheter so as to receive physiological signals therefrom;
a dock connector on the personality module housing configured to connect to the multi-modal connection port of the dock so as to provide the physiological signals thereto in a communication sent from the connected one of the personality modules to the dock;
wherein each dock housing and each personality module housing mate together to form each interface module; and
a base unit configured to communicatively connect to the at least two interface modules to receive the physiological signals therefrom, and wherein the processor is configured to communicate with the base unit.
