1. A method for operating an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, the method comprising:
receiving data from a downlink (DL) transmission or an uplink (UL) transmission;
receiving radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a IAB donor node (DN), the RRC signaling to include configuration information with respect to reference signals of the IAB DN or one or more neighboring IAB nodes;
performing one or more measurements based on the reference signals of the IAB DN or the one or more neighboring IAB nodes while receiving the data; and
transmitting one or more measurement results of the one or more measurements to the IAB DN.
