1. A method for enhancing the depth of real-world image content in a user's view, comprising:
obtaining metadata, wherein the metadata comprises:
a list of objects or image patterns to be depth-enhanced;
information for identifying the objects or image patterns from real-world imagery; and
specification of how to adjust the depth of each identified object or image pattern;
capturing real world imagery using a camera, the real-world imagery having associated depth information;
identifying, based on the metadata, an object or image pattern in the real world imagery;
modifying the depth information in an area associated with the identified object or image pattern according to the specification of how to adjust the depth of the identified object or image pattern; and
displaying a three-dimensional (3D) view of the real-world imagery to a user using the modified depth information.
