1. An apparatus comprising:
a first pair of entanglement sources including a first entanglement source and a second entanglement source configured to generate a first pair of entangled photons and a second pair of entangled photons at a same time;
a first Bell state measurement device connected with the first pair of entanglement sources to detect photons generated by the first entanglement source and the second entanglement source;
at least one memory connected with the first pair of entanglement sources to store photons generated by the first entanglement source and the second entanglement source;
a herald output including an electronic circuit connected with the first Bell state measurement device for determining a number of photons detected by the first Bell state measurement device; and
at least one optical switch connected with the at least one memory and the herald output, wherein the at least one optical switch is configured to selectively release photons from the at least one memory to a network based on the number of photons detected by the first Bell state measurement device.
