1. A device that is operative to transfer power and communicate wirelessly, the device comprising:
a first coil;
a drive-sense circuit (DSC) operably coupled to the first coil, wherein, when enabled, the DSC configured to:
receive a control signal from one or more processing modules;
generate a reference signal based on at least one parameter of the reference signal that is specified in the control signal;
generate a drive signal based on the reference signal;
provide the drive signal to the first coil via a single line and via a resonating capacitor and simultaneously to sense the drive signal including to sense one or more electrical characteristics of the drive signal via the single line, wherein, the drive signal is configured to transfer power wirelessly from the first coil to a second coil associated with another device via electromagnetic coupling between the first coil and the second coil; and
generate a digital signal representative of the one or more electrical characteristics of the drive signal based on an error signal corresponding to a difference between the drive signal and the reference signal; and
memory that stores operational instructions; and
the one or more processing modules operably coupled to the DSC and the memory, wherein, when enabled, the one or more processing modules is configured to execute the operational instructions to:
process the digital signal representative of the one or more electrical characteristics of the drive signal to determine the one or more electrical characteristics of the drive signal including to interpret control information within a communication signal transmitted from the another device via the electromagnetic coupling between the first coil and the second coil; and
direct the DSC to modify the drive signal based on the control information.
