1. A method comprising:
obtaining first, second, third and fourth sets of voltage measurements from a plurality of power devices connected in a serial string;
determining first, second, third, and fourth voltage values associated with first, second, third, and fourth timestamps respectively, wherein:
the first voltage value is a sum of the first set of voltage measurements,
the second voltage value is a sum of the second set of voltage measurements,
the third voltage value is a sum of the third set of voltage measurements,
the fourth voltage value is a sum of the fourth set of voltage measurements;
determining a first differential voltage using the first voltage value and the second voltage value;
determining a second differential voltage using the third voltage value and the fourth voltage value;
detecting a trend using the first differential voltage and the second differential voltage;
determining that the trend is an uncontrolled trend; and
controlling power based on the uncontrolled trend.
