1. A connection piece for connecting two cable conductors of high voltage polymer cables in a method of repairing or replacing a joint of a high voltage polymer cable, the connection piece comprising two receiving sections and a centre section, the two receiving sections being releasably connected to the centre section by means of a threaded connection allowing to establish a mechanical and electrically conducting connection between each of the receiving sections and the centre section-, each of the receiving sections having a bore for receiving an end of one of the two cable conductors therein, the centre section being in the form of a full cylinder with a length which is greater or equal to 10 cm and which corresponds to a separation distance between the two cable ends to be connected, wherein the handedness of the threads of the two receiving sections is different from each other and wherein the centre section comprises at least one central piece comprising two threads of different handedness.
