1. A sulfide solid electrolyte for solid-state batteries, the sulfide solid electrolyte comprising:
a phosphorous-free solid electrolyte having a cubic argyrodite structure and a composition according to the molecular formula Li6+x Mx Sb1−y S5−z R,
wherein 0<x≤0.7, y=0 to 0.7 and z=0 to 0.7,
wherein M is selected from the group consisting of Si and Sn, and wherein R is selected from the group consisting of Cl1 and Br1.
