1. A gaming system comprising:
a processor; and
a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, for a play of a game:
cause a display, by a display device, of an indication of a wager for the play of the game,
thereafter, cause a display, by the display device, of randomly determined symbols for the play of the game,
thereafter, cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of an increased wager for the play of the game, wherein the processor determines whether to employ a wager increase for the play of the game without requiring a player input associated with the determination, and
cause a display, by the display device, of an award based on the increased wager for the play of the game.
