1. An imaging system, comprising:
a frame-based sensor configured to generate image frames of a scene;
an event-based sensor configured to generate an event stream; and
a stream processor configured to receive the event stream and analyze the events to determine if a predetermined criteria for the event stream is satisfied, and in response thereto generate a real-time frame trigger to select one or more image frames captured by the image processor for analysis by an image processor, wherein the imaging system is located at a retail checkout station having the event-based sensor disposed within a housing of a bi-optic barcode reader or external to the housing of the bi-optic barcode reader.
